Alex Essoe and Dylan McTee craftily play a not-entirely-unhappy young couple whose aspirations are threatened by a New Years Eve accident in “Midnighters” (9:35 p.m. at the ArcLight Culver City). Noir complications metastasize from there in this clever and suspenseful feature debut from brothers Alston and Julius Ramsay. Ward Horton’s delectable portrayal of a sadistic manipulator has to be seen to be believed.
